Ingredients:

  • 1 lb baby bok choy, halved lengthwise
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 3 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp oyster sauce
  • 1 tbsp toasted sesame oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1 tsp water

Instructions:

  1. Rinse the bok choy thoroughly under cold water and slice each head of baby bok choy in half lengthwise.
  2. Fill a pot with 1 inch of water and add salt. Bring to a boil, then place the bok choy in a steamer basket cut-side down. Cover and steam for 3 to 5 minutes until stalks are translucent but still have a slight bend.
  3. Heat sesame oil in a small pan over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant and pale gold.
  4. Stir in soy sauce, oyster sauce, sugar, and water. Simmer for 1 minute until the sauce thickens slightly.
  5. Arrange the steamed bok choy on a platter and immediately pour the hot garlic sauce over the centers.
